I offer free video instruction on my YouTube channel, and you can find many unedited class demonstrations on drawing, watercolor journaling, pastel and oil painting. My current goal is to improve the quality of my new videos, so I can better serve you.
Workshops (multiple days in a row) and Classes (weekly/monthly) will be designed to meet the client's needs. There are too many variables to list pricing here. Please contact me to discuss the options.
Two class options are available and both are limited to four participants. Masks are required. The Tuesday class begins with a demonstration in oils, and the Wednesday class is Open Studio where you work in your choice of media. Follow the links on the day you are interested for more information and registration.
Please contact me if you have difficulty or any questions.
SEND ME YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS to be on the class announcement list.
I notify people on this list before I publish the classes publicly, so those who expressed an interest will have first choice at registration. I prefer to teach Tuesday through Thursdays, but make exceptions if they fit with my family and church schedules.
I was so fortunate to find art classes taught by Kari Waltz in 2015. Since then, she has been a teacher, a cheerleader and a friend. Kari is SO talented in many areas: watercolor, acrylic, oil, pastel, mixed media, wood burning…. and I’m sure MANY other artistic endeavors that I am unaware of. She does it all!! She is so incredibly giving with her talents. I know that my art skills have improved immensely because of Kari’s instruction and her constant encouragement. In addition to her art skills, Kari is one of the kindest, warmest, and most compassionate people I have ever met. I would recommend Kari’s art classes to anyone… at any stage… From beginner to experienced artist who just wants to experiment with something new, you will NOT be disappointed!!
I have had the pleasure of taking art classes off and on with KWaltz for several years, and I have thoroughly enjoyed them and learned so much! Kari is a born teacher and amazingly organized. She is extremely generous in sharing her time, vast art knowledge, and talent; she has certainly helped me grow as a artist. Her demos are outstanding and take you through the process of creating a painting step by step allowing you to create something you never dreamed you could, as evidenced by the oil painting. She is very versatile and can teach watercolor, oil, acrylic and pastel all equally well. As a added bonus, she is a kind, adventurous, spiritual and delightful person who I am now happy to count as a friend! I highly recommend her classes and workshops! Hilary Ellwood
Thank you, Kari, for getting me started on the journey of playing with watercolors. It opened doors to creativity that I had wanted to try for a while and gave me confidence to move from journal to note cards to small framed pieces. I especially enjoy doing the note cards to have on hand for sending to special friends. (And, yes, I too love clouds and search for ways to capture their beauty.)
Kari, is a sweet hearted giving person and a great Art Teacher. I attended a beginning oil class where she was teaching monochromatic painting. I didn't even know what that was, but I learned and was excited to be there. Her class gave me a strong foundation in color, value, and techniques which helped me in future work. She not only taught us to paint, but showed us cost saving tips to wire artwork and make our own glass palettes. She is confident in all mediums: oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, and pencil. I'd highly recommend anyone to join her classes, and if I hadn't moved away, I would still be a regular student for life. 🥰
